Helping develop our young citizens we sponsor Croydon schoolchildren in the “Rotary Youth Leadership Awards” (RYLA). This a leadership program coordinated by Rotary Clubs across the globe. Each year, thousands of young people ages 14-30 participate in this program.

We sponsor students at the “Youth Speaks” event offering an opportunity for young people to develop the ability to speak on a public platform, carry out research and formulate ideas, improve self-confidence and presentation skills, and work as a team.
Our club, founded in 1921, has over 90 years of community service in Croydon and worldwide.

Through our fundraising activities we support local charities and individuals.

We arrange many events for fundraising whilst having fun at the same time, including, Christmas collections, sports competitions, eg, darts, snooker, golf, cribbage, dominoes, etc.

Additionally, we arrange regular social events including quiz nights, theatre visits, and personalised tours of prominent locations, eg Lords cricket ground and the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden

We also support many global charities including, for example, the “End Polio Now” campaign eradicating polio through a worldwide vaccination programme and “Shelterbox” providing emergency shelter and supplies to disaster areas.
